Spring Skiing on the "Beach"

Arapahoe Basin has a place they call "The Beach." It is an area where the slop meets the parking lot. People tailgate and leave from their car straight to the ski slope. Warren has been dying to try this, so we left one morning with grill, food, blankets, drinks, skis, and music. It was actually alot of fun and the girls LOVED it. It was nice because Warren could take the girls one at a time and I could walk along "the beach" and watch them ski down. We will definately do this again...

The girls sat in their carseats in the car because it was alittle too cold and windy outside. They loved watching the dogs run around and skiers come FAST down the hill.

The Pros

Warren's Mom taught me how to take "Bum" shots...I think they are pretty cute walking together.

SKIER KAYLEE:

Their is my Kaylee coming down a pretty long slope. She LOVES this!!

WARN OUT!! Isn't it great to be a kid. When she is tired skiing, she just falls down. And can get back up with hardly any effort.

Kaylee loves going on the thift, especially by herself. She feels pretty responsible.

Kaylee loved to SPLASH me with snow as she would come by.


Taking a nap after a long morning of skiing. Of course, Monkery had to come along.

SKIER TAYLOR:

Next year Taylor will get her turn to learn how to ski. She was pretty content in the backpack watching everyone.

SKIER NICOLE:

This describes Nicole prefectly...one of the ski lift controllers called her a "Ragdoll." She was so floppy and lazy while she skied, BUT in typical Nicole fashion...had a HUGE smile on her face. Warren just got quite the workout holding her up and trying to get her moving.

After a couple of tries, Warren was done and told Nicole she would have to go back to the car if she didn't start TRYING. Once she was threatened alittle, she perked right up and started relying on herself. SHE DID GREAT!! She would listen to Warren and tried her hardest. Sometimes she would lose her focus because she was giving me HUGE smile or looking at something else, BUT she is fun to watch because she gets so excited and proud of herself.
