Hidden Treasures...

I was going through school stuff finally and found these pictures, and drawings from Nicole. LOVED THEM!!

(Beginning of the year...Nicole's letters are very random and her name has the right letters but in the wrong order)

This was fun to find while I searched through Nicole's journal. She has improved a ton from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.


(In May, her numbers are looking better and she is staying on the lines. She is still not spelling things correctly, but she is trying.)

I love Nicole's little people. They never have bodies, just legs and when they do have bodies, they do not have legs. I love them and you can always tell a Nicole masterpiece.


At the beginning of the year, Nicole said by the end of the year she wants to learn how to read. She accomplished the goal. She knows how to read with ALOT of help, but is getting it.

SHE ACCOMPLISHED HER GOALS!!! Yay for Nicole.

Kaylee worked so hard to pass her ALL FACTS tests, and she DID IT!! Because she passed her test, she earned an awesome toy....Project Runway Design Fashion Projector. By the end of the year, she was close to finishing all her Division Facts. Math doesn't always come naturally to Kaylee, so she worked so hard. I was very proud and happy for her.


Silly Girls on Immigration Day - This was the day Kaylee has been looking forward to for months. The school was transformed into Ellis Island, and all the 2nd graders got to dress as an ancestor. Kaylee dressed as an Icelander and learned a ton for the day. She learned about Puffins, Icelandic Horses, her Great-Grandpa Johnson who came from Iceland, and the Vikings. She even brought Pickled Eggs for the class to try, and surprisingly her class loved them.

Field Day Fun - Once again, it was FREEZING COLD!! WHY?!! The kids still had a lot of fun, but it was cold and ended in rain/sleet/snow.

I love this picture because it shows how silly my Kaylee can be. She is such a goof ball.

This was the first year Kaylee actually participated in the running events. She normally sits on the side saying, "I hate games." I was happy she decided to join in the fun this year.

Kaylee's loved her teacher this year and it was sad to say goodbye.

This was the last event - water balloons. Kaylee and Rebekah won!!! They kept their water balloon ALIVE AND WELL.

BEWARE - Mom is taking this moment to BRAG about her children

It has been a great school year.
Kaylee loved her teacher, loved all the EXTRA activities (Immigration day, pioneer day), and has become quite the SILLY girl in class. Kaylee made all C's in her classes, which means she Consistently does well in all those areas. She also got either A+ or A- in all the SCHOOL type areas like grammar, mathematics, phonics, spelling, and recitation.
This is what her teacher said about our sweet Kaylee:
"Kaylee has blossomed this last semester and has become a flower of gladness in our classroom. She always has a smile on her face and strives to spread happiness wherever she goes. Kaylee has a good heart and does her best to do what she should. Kaylee is always eager to share her knowledge. She was enraptured with learning about her ancestors when we studied Immigration. Kaylee has come a long way in her nature studies and takes her time as she adds details to what she is painting. Kaylee is a student who loves to learn and loves to ask questions. She is interested in others and thoroughly enjoys our lunch discussions. I have enjoyed getting to know her as a person. She wants to succeed."

Nicole wanted to celebrate her last day with BUBBLES

Nicole has done AWESOME this school year and I have loved every moment of Kindergarten. Her school was wonderful and she has come along way. I LOVED her speech teacher!! She made a huge difference in my little Nicole and had a special interest in helping Nicole succeed. WHAT A TREMENDOUS BLESSING!! Nicole's favorite subjects were PE, recess, art, reading time, and coloring. Nicole ended the school year strongly with making either 2's (Developing) or 3's (consistently demonstrates) in her school subjects. The area with the most improvement was her writing. She also scored a point higher on her standardized test this past Spring. YAY FOR NICOLE!!

This is what Nicole's teacher said about our LOVING little girl:
"Nicole has become more outgoing and initiates conversations a lot more. (WHAT A BIG THING FOR NICOLE!!) She is very kind to others and is always ready to assist others. Thank you, Nicole. She has been working hard on her letters, sounds, and counting. She always seems to be happy and is very cooperative."

CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS - YOU DID AWESOME
NOW IT IS TIME TO ENJOY SUMMER!!!
