My Little Helpers

Taylor loves to help me around the house. One of her favorite things to do is color. Anytime I sit down to read, work on the computer, or write something - Taylor is right there ready to offer her help. She takes my pen from me and wants to write all over everything I am working on. IT DRIVES ME NUTS!! So, I got her a coloring bucket. She loves this bucket and takes it everywhere she goes.

She puts all her coloring treasures inside (pencils, crayons, wrappers to crayons, coloring pages, and blank sheets of paper) and pulls them out whenever she wants to color. She actually does a very good job not coloring on other things because she is also my obsessive cleaner.

Taylor loves to clean. She is always cleaning. She gets into her wipes or the clorax wipes and starts to do her cleaning.
I love it because she even uses her intense face while she cleans. Anytime I start to clean, she says "Wipe Mommy. Me tean." I think she might be alittle obsessive about cleaning.

The other day, Kaylee came home from school and started to work on a project. I asked her what she was doing and she said, "I am making a stop sign for my teacher. She needs some help with the class, so I thought she could use a stop sign to tell the class to be quiet. Whenever the class gets loud, she can hold up the Stop Sign." Kaylee does have a pretty crazy class with alot of LOUD boys. She tries very hard to do what is right and loves her teacher, so she wanted to help her. The next day she gave her teacher the stop sign - I wonder what her teacher thought of her gift?

Cooking with Miss Kaylee "The Chef"

Kaylee has been wanting to help me cook everyday. She calls herself "The Chef." One of her favorite things to cook is a chex mix that she came up with all by herself. Here is Miss Kaylee, "The Chef's," recipe for Chocolate Chex Mix (we aren't quite sure how much of each ingredient because Kaylee makes it up as she goes along - so here is a guess).

Chocolate Chex Mix
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
2 TBS Peanut Butter
2 Cups Chex Cereal
6 Graham Crackers
1 1/2 - 2 Cups Marshmellows
1 1/2 Cups Pretzels
1 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar

Melt the Chocolate Chips with the Peanut Butter on low heat, stirring all the time.
Measuring out the Chex Cereal into a big mixing bowl.

Chopping up the graham crackers and pretzels in bite size pieces - Kaylee likes to use the slicer anytime she can.

Put the mixture of graham crackers and pretzels in the big mixing bowl with the chex cereal.

Adding the Marshmellows - Kaylee's Favorite Part

Adding the melted chocolate chips and peanut butter to the yummy stuff in the mixing bowl, and stir together.

Put the powdered sugar into a big ziploc bag and add the chocolate ,yummy mix.

Shaking the bag with all the stuff in it. YUMMY!!

All done!! Put it in the refrigerator for alittle while to cool it off and enjoy.

Ready for Kaylee to eat - YUMMY!! My girls love this stuff and Kaylee loves to make it.

BYU Graduation

This past weekend Warren and I went on a very fast trip to Utah for my sister's and brother - in-law's graduation from BYU. We left Thursday afternoon and got back late Saturday night. It was very fast, but alot of fun.

I went to Mollie's graduation while Warren watched the girls. Mollie got her Master's in Art History. Her graduation was wonderful and I am very proud of her. A very pregnant women played her violin in high heel shoes, 2 graduates in Musical Theater sang a duet, another graduate showed a slideshow of some of his work in Graphic Design, and Elder Oaks spoke. It was fantastic.
After Mollie's graduation, Warren dropped the girls off with me and he went to Steven's graduation. I don't have any pictures of Steven's graduation, but we are so proud of him. He finished in 2 1/2 years and is going to USC for dental school in the fall.

After graduation, we went out to lunch with Grandma, Grandpa,Mollie, and Great-Grandparents. This is Taylor doing her "intense" face, but it so DARN CUTE.

Aunt Mollie with my wonderful Grandpa.

It was a great time. We ate a ton of food, laughed, and enjoyed the great company.

Fun with the McVey Cousins

During the Easter break, the girls had alot of fun playing with some of their cousins.

Kaylee and Abby are about 3 months apart and love spending time with each other. They loved to play salon. They would do each other's hair, makeup, and trade clothes.
Sleepover and movie time !!

Playing outside at Grandma's - favorite game was jump rope. I loved listening to the silly jump rope rhymes!! Brought back alot of memories-

Nicole is always the first one to sit right down in the middle of the sandbox. Nicole spent alot of her time playing a game called ZINGO (bingo) with her cousins. Anytime somebody would talk by, she would point to the game and say, "Want to play?" She LOVED IT!!

Easter Festivities

We spent Easter with my parents and brother TJ in Denver. It was a wonderful day and my girls loved all the YUMMY candy.

Kaylee was pretty excited about her skirt and hairclip. This was her favorite. She is definately MY DAUGHTER.

Nicole woke up alittle confused and out of sorts - she is not a morning person. But, when she saw the Tinker Bell pinwheel - she brightened up.

Taylor immediately ripped open her eggs and crayons. She was pretty disappointed in the money egg (5 pennies). She looked up at me like "Excuse me? What is this all about? I want my candy!!" She actually said, "Candy?"

Kaylee was pretty thrilled when she realized one of her eggs had $2.

Taylor took her Easter basket and crayon case everywhere she went. I love how she leans in for "LOVES." When you ask her for a kiss, she leans in with her cheek and smiles.

Isn't she BEAUTIFUL!!

Taylor sat down in a wet patch on the grass (it was raining) and got her bum all wet/dirty. At least she didn't get chocolate on her dress until the pictures were done.

After breakfast, Kaylee started to feel pretty sick. She woke up on Saturday night with a mild ear ache, but by Sunday morning it was really hurting. At church, she fell asleep on my Mom's lap and leaked lovely stuff out of her ear all over my Mom's skirt. This is when I knew something was wrong. All day long, her ear leaked and she was in alot of pain. She busted her eardrum. Poor girl - it made me so sad. Luckily, we have good friends that prescribed some medicine and she slept well during the day and that night.

She definitely knows what to do when the camera comes out. Just look at her pose and smile. LOVE IT!!

Nicole was worried about Kaylee all day and gave her lots of hugs to make her feel better. She tried to make her smile.

Uncle TJ (Definitely an older brother) loved to tease Taylor and take stuff out of her basket. She would yell "MINE!!"

All the cousins that were there - we missed Jill's bunch
(Taylor, Nicole, Kaylee, Tyler, Robbie, Madison, Abby)

Family with Grandma and Grandpa - Poor Kaylee was such the sport.

For an Easter treat, we made Bunny Cupcakes and Nicole tried so hard not to eat the frosting and marshmallows. We had to limit the amount she decorated and set her 2 aside because the liked to lick as she decorated.

This is how Kaylee spent the day. She slept alot!! I love how Cocoa cuddled with Kaylee.

Madison does such a great job being the oldest cousin. She takes very good care of all the little ones. She also did great with her new headgear from Uncle Warren.

We ended the night with another Easter Egg hunt and more candy.

Easter Egg Hunt

Last week, we went on an Easter Egg Hunt with some friends at a neighborhood park. The girls had a BLAST, especially Taylor. Taylor laughed and giggled the entire time. She is my chocolate and candy fanatic, so she was in heaven.

Nicole is so selfless. She made sure Taylor got enough eggs and would forget to get some for herself.

HAPPY GIRL !!
